Shakespeare In The Park

The Monsoon season in NYC seems to have mercifully abated, which was lucky news for me last night as I headed to the Public Theater in Central Park with some friends. After four brave souls stood in line at 5am that Sunday morning (not me), our pack scored eight seats for this season’s hit; Twelfth Night. Shakespeare In The Park is a true New York treat, and is on a first come, first serve ticket basis, hence the five am line up. Thanks boys!

Along with a delicious picnic of cheese, baguette, french wine and cherries, I was very content in the open-air theater looking up into the beautiful evening sky… and tucked far away enough into Central Park, with the New York City noises sufficiently muffled.

Anne Hathaway shone in the roll of Viola, masquerading as a gentleman! and I was equally impressed by the other actors, spending most of the play in raucous laughter with my friends. A little wine, a beautiful night, fabulous actors and I felt as though id taken some cat-nip! ah yes, dare I say…. summer is here!

  1. Oh that looks just lovely, and the picnic sounds delicious! I do so love NYC, there’s so much to do on any given day.
